About Makar Sankranti : It is one of the India ritual and are known to Different names in different Indian state for example Pongal in Tamil Nadu, Magh Bihu in Assam, it is called as Uttarayana Makara sankranti in kerela, karnataka; maghi Sangrand in Jammu Kashmir , Sakat in Haryana state, Sakraat in Rajasthan, Uttarayana in Gujarat, Peddha Panduga in Andhrapradesh and Telangana, Songkan in Thailand, Thingyan in Mayenmar, Mohan Songkran in Cambodia, etc. In some stae of India makar Sankranti day is a general holiday while in some other it is not.
