Origin: The Sirakhong Chilli is one of the most special chillies of Manipur found at the Sirakhong village, on the west side of Ukhrul district. This plant has already been GI tagged also for its high value of ASTA colour.

Pricing: The cost of this chilli is high as compared to other chilli due to its flavour taste. It may cost around Rs 1000 per kilogram. However various packets are available also at costs starting from Rs 50 to above in the local market of Manipur.

Uses: Most people use this chill in cooking meat curry like port, goat, beef or chicken.

How Sirakhong chilli can be planted at home?

These Sirakhong chilli plants can be planted at home or on your greenhouse farm easily in February or March. To get the seeds, you may need to buy the dried Sirakhong chilli which is available on the market like Pishumthong, Tera Bazar, Kakching, mayang imphal, Samurou bazaar,etc. We suggest for home gardening purposes buy a small packet of this dried chilli form at just rs 50 and take out its seeds. After taking the seeds, sow it in a tray and after a couple of days it will start growing as shown in the picture below also took a 50 rs packet of this chilli and sowed it in a tray like this . After some weeks this plant is grown up as shown in the picture. Now this plant has been transported to the small Garden as shown in the video below
