Who has been appointed as the new MD of Sun Pharma?
Kirti Ganorkar has been appointed as the new MD of the Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited, and he will act as the active MD from September 1 2025. His appointment as MD is for a term of 5 years only. This appointment was approved by the Company board of directors, and the approval of the Shareholders is pending and will be done at the Upcoming Annual meeting.
After his appointment, it has been confirmed that the current Chairman and MD, Dilip Shangvi, will become the Executive Chairman from 1st September 2025.

Kirti Ganorkar is a chemical engineer and MBA, and has been CEO of Sun Pharma since 1996. He worked in he field of business development, product marketing, project Management, IP, litigation, etc. During his time, the company has also achieved consistent growth and expansion in market share. He is also considered to be the one who introduced Sun Pharma in Japan, Europe, etc.
His posting as the CEO started from 2023 and will end on 1st September 2025. Before he became the CEO of the company, he held the position of the Executive Vice President and head of Global Business Development of Sun Pharma.
