Baisakhi Festival

According to three news sources and articles, it is mentioned that this day is the first day of the month Vaisakh, i.e the second month of the Nanakshahi and Punjabi Calendar.
What you mainly can observe is people gathering happily along with the harvest festival, where you can see sikh people visiting nearby gurudwaras, melas, Kieran, Nishan Sahib flag hoisting, and public gatherings with sharing of food and vegetables.
Most of the time, this festival is celebrated on 13 April, but this year it falls on 14th April.
Hindus also celebrate the first day of Vaisakh, believing the traditional solar new year. It is seen as celebrated by Hindus also in states of India such as Assam, Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Odisha, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, UP, etc.
Goura Cheiraoba
The Goura Cheiraoba is a festival observed in Manipur after some days after the Sajibu Nongma Panba Meitei/Meitei Cheiraoba Day. On this day, people prepare a feast and perform a ritual celebration. After the feast, various cultural as well as traditional programs are conducted in Manipur, including Thabal Chongba ( Folk dance of Manipur ), Hillock climbing, Sumang Leela, Eshei Nongmai, Seireng seidannaba ( poetry competition), social services like cleaning and sanitising of the locality, etc. If you ever visit Manipur in April, then don’t miss this festival.
Maha Vishuva Shankranti
14th April 2025 is also Maha Vishuva Sankranti day, celebrated in Odisha, India as a part of culture, tradition, and religion. In this state, this day is considered the first day of the Mesha solar month in Odisha. It is also known by another term as Pana Sankranti, Odia Nua Barsha, etc.
The Tamil New Year
The Tamil New Year is also known by another name, i.e Puthandu, Varusha Pirappui, and it is celebrated as the first day of the Tamil year. On this day, i.e 14th April, it is observed in the state of Tamil Nadu.
Bihu Festival
The great Indian most-awaited festival of Assam, the Bihu, starts on 14th April and ends on 20th April 2025. This is believed by the Assamese people to be New Year’s Day according to the Hindu solar calendar. One interesting fact is that it is celebrated three times a year, and I mainly celebrate during the harvest time of crops and cereals in the state.
