Baisakhi Festival

According to the various news sources and articles, it mentioned this day is the first day of the month Vaisakh, i.e the second month of the Nanakshahi and Punjabi Calendar.

What mainly you can observe is the people gathering happily along with harvest festival, where you can see sikh people visiting to nearby gurudwaras, melas, Kieran, Nishan sahi flag hoisting and public gatherings with sharing of foods and vegitable .

Most of the time this festival is celebrated on 13 April, but this year it falls on 14th April.

The Hindu also celebrate the first day of vaisakh believing the traditional solar new year. It is seen celebrated by Hindu also in state of India such as Assam, Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana , Odisha, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, UP, etc .

Goura Cheiraoba

The Goura Cheiraoba is a festival observed in Manipur after some days of the Sajibu Nongma Panba Meitei/Meitei Cheiraoba Day. And on this day, people prepare the feast and perform a ritual celebration. After the feast, various cultural as well as traditional programs are conducted in Manipur, including Thabal Chongba ( Folk dance of Manipur ), Hillock climbing, Sumang Leela, Eshei Nongmai, Seireng seidannaba ( poetry competition), social services like cleaning and sanitizing of locality,etc. If you ever visit Manipur during April month, then don’t miss this festival.

Maha Vishuba Shankranti

The 14th April 2025 is also Maha Bishuba Sankranti day celebration done in Odisha, India as a part of culture, tradition and religion. In this state, this day is considered the first day of the Mesa Solar month in Odisha. It is also known by another term as pana sankranti, odia nua barsa, etc.

The Tamil New Year

The Tamil New Year is also known by another name, i.e Puthandu, Varusha Pirappui, and it is celebrated as the first day of the Tamil year.  On this day, i.e 14th April, it is observed in the Tamil Nadu state.

Bihu Festival
